In 2017 Daytoner’s live band supported Craig Charles in Brighton, Chepstow, Plymouth and Falmouth, declaring on Twitter, “Daytoner are my new favourite band. Fact” and this support was strengthened in Dec with the inclusion of Daytoner’s debut recording ‘I Get By’ on ‘The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club Vol.5’ compilation, out now on Freestyle Records. Daytoner also performed at over a dozen festivals in 2017 including Shindig, Boardmasters, NASS and Lovebox along with a variety of special events including the opening of the Blue Whale exhibit in the Natural History Museum!

Their unique line-up of baritone and tenor sax, flute, keys, bass, drums and DJ, fronted by the soul powerhouse that is Lucy Richards always ensure they fill the floor, with the musicians flipping familiar funk, soul and ska hooks and samples across many genres. Craig Charles has heaped praise on this vocal delivery declaring “They’ve done some shows with me recently…they tear the place apart when they show up and do their thing and what a voice his vocalist Lucy Richards has got as well.”
