Taking their name from ‘a troop of ithyphallic male companions of Dionysus with goat-like features and often permanent erection’ the Manchester / Preston alliance of Saytr (Say-Ter) Play first started out as an acoustic duo with founding members Fred Farrell (Vocals) and Jamie Vere (Lead Guitar). The current line up cemented when Paul Kershaw (Drums) and Daniel Crowther (Bass) joined them during their second year at the University of Central Lancashire.

The band have been compared to a range of bands such as The Kooks, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Cage The Elephant to Iggy Pop, Vampire Weekend and pre-arena JAMES.

It’s safe to say Saytr Play have a found a unique sound, and the energy and showmanship in their live show is what sets them apart from many other bands.
