Stereophonics sit as one of the UK’s most successful bands of the past 25 years, scoring number one after number one with their ready-made anthems and euphoric live shows. Led by Kelly Jones, one of the great British songwriters, their headline turn in 2017 stands as one of the greatest in the festival’s history – and with hotly anticipated new album ‘Oochya!’ set for release on March 4th 2022 and new single ‘Do Ya Feel My Love?’ standing as an emerging anthem and fan favourite for the band, Stereophonics were the first band to call to soundtrack Kendal Calling’s 15th birthday celebrations, even if it’s slightly delayed…

Speaking about their headline slot at Kendal Calling 2022, Stereophonics said:

We played Kendall Calling in 2017. It’s a great festival on a beautiful site with a fantastic crowd. We really enjoyed playing it back then and we can’t wait to headline the Saturday night next summer. See you there!”

There may not be a more perfect headliner for Kendal Calling 2022 than The Streets. An undeniable icon in British music culture, Mike Skinner over the course of nearly 20 years has impacted and shaped the sound of modern life in the UK and beyond. Recognised as one of the best live acts on the planet, his no-holds-barred hit rate of festival anthems brings the fire every single time. From ‘Fit But You Know It’, ‘Don’t Mug Yourself’, ‘Has It Come To This’, ‘Blinded By The Lights’ and ‘Turn The Page’ to the soaring emotion of ‘Dry Your Eyes’, ‘The Escapist’ and ‘Never Went To Church’ – Mike Skinner and The Streets are unrivalled in defining moments in time. Heading to the fields this summer, get ready for the perfect bottle-popping headline celebration that an entire nation has been waiting for. Lock down your aerials.

Continuing their rich reunion run that has brought back glorious memories of one of the UK’s most delightfully entertaining bands, Supergrass take their rightful place at the top of the bill at Kendal Calling 2022. With an eclectic mix of rapturous singalong favourites at their disposal, including the likes of ‘Alright’, ‘Pumping On Your Stereo’ and ‘Moving’ to name but a few – expect their headline moment to be a euphoric set of beaming smiles and fun that only Supergrass can master.

Kicking things off on Thursday evening is the celebratory Hacienda Classical, whose reinterpretations of some of the era’s most iconic electronic cuts have become a must-see live show. Lead by the famous superclub’s own Graeme Park, the jaw-dropping homage to the sounds and cultural influence of The Hacienda spans some of electronic music’s most iconic tracks, with 2022 marking 40 years since the famous club first opened its doors! It’s a guarantee that Lowther Deer Park will be turned into a glorious discoball of energy once Hacienda Classical takes the stage. The perfect way to kick-off the Kendal Calling weekend, additional Thursday entry tickets are available now – with the likes of Sundara Karma, Orla Gartland, Craig Charles and Red Rum Club completing a thrilling opening salvo for the return of Kendal Calling.

Guaranteed to capture a summer highlight at every turn, Kendal Calling once again delivers with a lineup filled to the brim with festival-memory-potential. No birthday party is complete without Craig David presents TS5, serving up a cocktail of big beats and dancefloor-hits like nobody else can. Expect a trip through Craig’s cracking chart toppers, fresh remixes and more for a pumping dance-off that’ll put a doink on a huge weekend. Adding their own dynamite spice to proceedings, The Wombats head to Kendal Calling with a volcanic live show that has seen them become a band that keep getting bigger and bigger. With arena shows across the globe, and a wealth of hits ready to be screamed back at them – there may be band better at festivals than The Wombats, with Kendal Calling sure to be a big-time party that’ll have hands in the air in no time! Indie singalongs you say? Look no further than The Kooks, set to make their debut appearance at Kendal Calling in 2022. With a devoted following across the globe, The Kooks have one of the most formidable back catalogues in British guitar music – with ‘Naive’, ‘Always Where I Need To Be’, ‘Ooh La’ and ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ just a hint of their singalong favourites. After mammoth shows in 2019, expect Kendal Calling to be in collective cheer when Luke Pritchard & Co come to town next July.

Fresh from storming the UK Album Charts with second album ‘Evering Road’, Tom Grennan returns to Kendal Calling this summer with an emphatic live celebration in the fields. Expect choice cuts from his chart-topping success, as one of the UK’s brightest young artists takes that step up in prime fashion. Sizzling indie kingpins The Vaccines return to Kendal Calling,  having served up a landmark moment back in 2015 with their flaming set of indie bangers. With recent album ‘Back In Love City’ shining as their most ambitious to date, expect Kendal Calling to fall into their arms in a matter of moments when they take the stage. A true festival favourite, Amy Macdonald heads to Lowther Deer Park next July with cuts like ‘This Is The Life’ and ‘Mr Rock & Roll’ sitting as timeless gems that’ll go down a treat at Kendal Calling, while fresh from their giant UK headline tour (which saw them headline London’s famed Brixton Academy), Sea Girls will bring their full-throttle indie hits to Kendal Calling’s 2022 return. With new album ‘Homesick’ out in January, expect their set to be an unstoppable celebration that’ll have the fields bouncing in unison – much like Declan McKenna, who has emerged as one of the most exciting and creative new artists on the planet across two incredible studio albums. Blending classic songwriting, a spectacular live show and building a thrilling community of fans – he’s a must-see at Kendal Calling, as the future continues to build and build from a true modern great.

Chart-topping hero Tom Grennan said:

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be returning to Kendal Calling in 2022. Last time was magic! I can’t wait to perform my new music and to sing and dance again with all you lovely people! It’s going to go off! HERE WE GO!! x”

We can’t wait to welcome you all back to the fields in 2022 for the start of a new adventure.

See you in the fields,

Andy, Ben & the KC team x
