We are thrilled to announce the full line-up for the EARACHE TAKEOVER of Yam Riot at Kendal Calling! Summer 2022 sees the long-anticipated debut at Kendal Calling for Earache after the takeover was originally plotted for 2020 and will see a stacked line up of fresh alternative acts. Earache is on a mission to bring heavy music to more mainstream festivals and the Kendal Calling takeover comes in the slipstream of Glastonbury Festival where Earache has been ‘bringing the heavy’ to the famous Shangri La field since 2017.
Earache will take over the Yam Riot stage and will be the late-night after party, giving people chance to mosh into the small hours and get down and dirty to some of the noisiest bands on the UK scene alongside some classic bangers from the finest rock DJs.
Joining the previously announced headliners of Massive Wagons, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs and Hacktivist, this new line up reveal includes two new acts in Trap Metal prodigy BVDLVD and the savage hardcore-nu metal fusion of Death Blooms.
Across the takeover, those in the tent will be treated to the potent atmosphere conjured by post-hardcore outfit Svalbard, the fierce Brat Punk of Delilah Bon and the electrifying grime metal of Hacktivist. The line-up also welcomes Nosebleed, Millie Manders and the Shut Up, Paula Frost, Tasmin Taylor, Hang the DJs as well as other beloved members of the Earache family: Scarlet Rebels & The Dust Coda.
Opening night headliners Massive Wagons will be performing fresh off of the news of their newly announced album ‘TRIGGERED!’ and newly unleashed track and video “Fuck The Haters”. Frontman Barry “Baz” Mills enthuses: “‘Really really stoked to be playing Kendal Calling, I love that Earache put stages into festivals to help crossover genres, we wanna play for new people as much as possible, and there aren’t many opportunities at festivals for heavier bands to be honest unless it’s a specific rock, metal fest, being able to play Kendal Calling is a great opportunity to melt some new faces!”
Tom Hadfield, Earache Records’ Head of Live, says of the takeover: “Can’t wait to get up to the Lake District and get the Earache Takeover underway. We want to offer something a bit different and heavier to the norm and hopefully our line up does that. See you in the mosh pit!”
